  Serape 2

Hearst Poncho Serape

This magnificent Serape design is hand loomed and available in 12-ply cashmere and measures 82.5 by 53 inches.

The circa 1840-60 serape that inspired this poncho was owned by William Randolph Hearst, whose amazing collection of Navajo blankets is among the best in the world.

Hearst once accused Fred Harvey of keeping the best blankets for himself. Hearst told him to start sending his best right away.

Clearly, this was one of the best. The orginal blanket is now in the collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History.
