High Desert Concepts donates five percent of its profits to Navajo educational, cultural, and artistic projects.

In past years, HDC made a donation to the Southwest Learning Center, an educational non-profit resource that serves the multi-cultural population of the Southwest. Its programs include high school classes in weaving given on the Navajo reservation by a Gallup Ceremonial prize-winner. As part of the course, students take field trips to local sheep owners and learn to card, spin and weave in the traditional Navajo way, helping to reinvigorate a tradition that is so important to Navajo culture.

We have also sponsored a young Navajo student through Futures for Children.
